4 Clean Beauty Products I’m Loving Right Now- My Move to Clean Beauty
10 Years ago when I went natural, I left behind products that carried cancer causing ingredients and would strip my hair of its natural oils. I left behind ingredients like sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, petroleum, etc.
Now, I’m still concerned with the products that I add to my hair, however lately I’ve been redirecting my energy to things that I add directly to my skin. Because lets be real, your skin absorbs a good fraction of the chemicals that you put on it.
Thousands of these products are known to have carcinogens, pesticides, and hormone disruptors.
So I’m making a break for clean beauty!
According to The Good Face Project Clean Beauty refers to products made without toxic ingredients that may be harmful to humans and the environment and of course transparent labels.
Clean describes a product that is safe, non-toxic, and has transparent labeling of ingredients. Just because a product is organic, natural, or green, doesn’t mean it’s non-toxic.
I’m ultimately being intentionally conscious.
Here are some of my favorite conscious brands & the products that helped me to fall in love with them.
Milk Makeup referred to as the “Cool girl makeup brand” is cruelty-free, paraben-free, and 100% vegan. Because I love a good packaging, I would be behooved if I didn’t mention how pretty the packaging is. My Favorite item from this line is the HYDRO GRIP SET + REFRESH SPRAY. This setting spray is a must have! It sets makeup for up to 12 hours, hydrates the skin, and provides a breathable, glassy glow.
First Aid Beauty– Products in this line of course is made with clean ingredients. It’s fragrance free and the perfect solution for sensitive skin. I over love the Pure Skin Foaming Face Sensitive Skin Cleanser. This makes my skin feel super clean without completely stripping my skin of its oils
TULA – I already love that this is a conscious and clean brand, but also over love that 100% of TULA’s clean & effective skincare products are formulated with probiotic extracts & superfoods. The first product that I fell in love with is the Get Toned Pro-glycolic Resurfacing Toner, which worked wonders for clearing my skin.
Good Molecules– Another brand that is perfectly for sensitive skin. This brand is not only conscious about the ingredients that hey add to their products and the environment, but they are also conscious about their prices. My favorite product is the Niacinamide Brightening Toner.
The Honey Pot Company– This plant derived product has been a god send! After doing my research, I’m really not sure why some products are still on shelves. The product from this line that I first fell in love with is the Sensitive Foaming Wash. This both cleanses and balances the PH of one of women’s most precious parts. It’s toxin free and free of artificial fragrance or synthetics.
I’ve always been one that felt that the stronger the scent was on a product, the better it performed. However, now that I’m older I realize that that was a lie. Now that I’m older and have been empowered with the knowledge needed to make the right decisions about things that I’m consuming orally and topically.
Feels good to know that these products are safe and effective.
