Hello November! What I’m Looking Forward to This Month
Hello November! Just like that chapter 11 of 2020 is here. From the pandemic, the public death of George Floyd, and to the killing of Breonna Taylor, this year has been a whirlwind of emotions. As action packed as it’s been, if you’re reading this, you’re here and blessed. This year has certainly heightened our level of gratitude. And while we’re in the season of thanksgiving and all excited about the upcoming holiday, there’s so much more that I’m excited about as well.
My son’s 10th Birthday– 10 years ago, this kid made me a mom. My life forever changed and I’m grateful that God chose me. These years have flown and I just can’t believe he’s starting a brand new decade in his life.
T.I. & Young Jeezy VERZUZ– A little nostalgia is so what I need! Not to mention that this is about to be epic! I can’t wait to be taken back to my early days of undergrad on November 19th.
Strong Black Lead additions on Netflix – I just want to shout out the contributors and creators of the Strong Black Lead section on Netflix. People like who love black culture, black arts and of course black cinema. I’ve been so impressed with what’s been added. And starting Nov 1. 1st, they’re adding Woo & Two Can Play that Game! These are definitely some of my favorite classics!
Fried Turkey – It still surprises me whenever I meet someone who’s never had a fried Turkey. It’s much more tender and savory. Needless to say I’m looking forward to the holiday feasts that it brings-especially my father in law’s fried turkey!
Election Day– Oh yes, election day! Interestingly enough, the 2020 Presidential Election is on the same day as my son’s birthday. This is one of the most important elections that this nation has seen and we’re all nervous to see the outcome. I can’t wait till this date has come and gone.
Black Friday– I’ve never been one to truly look forward to Black Friday. I’ve found that for me the things that I truly wanted were never really on sale. However, during quarantine I realized how behind we were on technology and Black Friday always has always seemed to have the best tech deals. Of course this would be the perfect time to catch up.
Cool weather– Yes, it’s been fall for some time. And while some have even already seen snow, this Florida bred girl here have yet to even crack open a sweater. There have been cool mornings but we’re normally back to 90 degrees by 10 am. We’re truly unable to crack out those sweaters until around this time. 🙂
Cyber Monday– The deals I’m unable to catch on Black Friday, I’m sure I’ll catch that and some on Cyber Monday. Truth is, I’ve never done much of this type of shopping. However, because of the year that we’ve all had, we’re on a mission to make this season extra special for the kids. This means that we’re going to take care of any deals and savings that we can.
What are you looking forward to this November?
